Color is dead»DP has a NEW beat.
I’m changing the rules of the game around here. Where DP was once into same design different color, we are now different designs, same color. You’ll be seeing a lot of monochromatic and Black and White colors on the apparel. It’s time to winterize.
Shirts for women
In the last iteration of DP, there wasn’t a great selection from women. This was due to the fact the main design was very masculine and it was too expensive to cater to the few women that shop DP in addition to the men. However, now that we’re taking a more gender-neutral approach, we will stock plenty for women. Wear them like this: Usually a sheer/lightweight ringspun cotton fabric is used for these new T’s. Perfect for layering under a black wool cardigan.
We have yet to see the true revival of the 90’s
As you know, we’re big fans of the 80/90’s around here. Take one look at the blog post below and you’ll get a sense of our enthusiasm. See, people said the 90’s were back when the neon colors got a revival recently. The wayferers with blue polarized lenses…But I tend to disagree. I know I’m being slightly hypocritical, because if there’s anyone who loves that look it’s me. However, I think the true 90’s are coming back through the tight black jeans, white t-shirt, simple gold jewelry (read: women wearing mens watches—BIG FAN OF THAT), high-heeled stilettos, and leather bomber jackets*. Perfect timing for winter. If you ask me, I think we all got burnt out on the cluster-#@!% of color from the summer. I’m so glad we have seasons, because my eyes were beginning to hurt. In winter it’s back to basics…we will rock our black and white, drink whiskey from the bottle, and blast-off through this winter. For guys… you don’t give a shit about your style outside a comfortable T and jeans. So for you, we will approve and supply the shirts, so you don’t even have to think about what to wear.
Final words:
DP also means “doing proper.” It’s what we’ve done, it’s what you love, and it’s what we’ll continue to do. Please stick with us as we make our transition into a new style and while we breath some life back into Design Proper.
Thanks,
Ryan
*I told you we’re more gender-neutral.
